How to turn one video idea into a whole series
Your best video idea is usually not one video. It is a topic people care about, and you only covered one side of it.
Here is a way to turn one idea into a run of videos that feed each other, so a viewer who liked one has a reason to watch the next.
Four ways to stretch an idea
Take the idea and change one thing at a time:
From one idea to eight videos
Not every one needs to be a long video. Mistakes and one-year-later work well as Shorts.
Make the videos point at each other
- End each episode with the question the next one answers.
- Use the same words in the titles, so they look like a set.
- Put them in a playlist in order.
- Watch which episode does best and make more of that kind, not the next one on the list.
Plan the series in Cuely
Create a series from one idea and Cuely suggests the episodes, then each one opens as its own project with a script and a title, already linked to the others.

Questions
How many videos should a series have?
Plan five to eight and publish the first three. Then let the numbers decide whether the rest are worth making.
What if the first episode flops?
Change the angle, not the topic. Try the mistakes or the cheaper version before you drop the idea.
